Does it have a scripting component?
Terrain editing? (Just heightmap or an in-editor tool as well)
Workflow RE: assets? What mesh/ texture file extentions are supported?
GUI asset file extentons?
Middleware libraries? Like BINK videos etc.
Support for FXAA? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere and screenshots look aliased
Support for soft shadows? (Screenshots look like stencil)
Would you be able to edit the engine components to include things like:
-In-game face morph (necessary for any RPG type game)
How does the engine seem to handle very big worldspaces? Does it have background loading?
Reason I ask is I'm working on a (pretty good IMO) game concept and have been playing around with NeoAxis, Esenthiel and Unity engines to see what they're like. (NeoAxis seems best at the moment but not perfect)
I think its best to lay out what i have.
no AA yet because of the light pre-pass makes it very hard to use HW AA(need to write a shader for this).
no scripting(thinking of PhP, Python or Lua).
no Volumetric clouds\fog yet as i need to work out how to make it work with light pre-pass(depth buffer\rendertarget problems).
the cascaded shadow maps suffer Perspective Aliasing (can be fixed with VSM\Soft Shadows).
some problems with Volumetric Light Scattering as a Post-Process( some info ).
Mesh file formats:
.fbx, .obj, .nif, .x, .3ds (.fbx can be a skin mesh with 68 bones).
3ds max Mesh\Dummy keywords: W_ (water shader), B_ (gun dummy), L_<r,g,b>(light dummy with rgb color), G_ (glass shader) and player parts.
All Meshs\Dummys are converted at content build time to the ingame objects.
terrain editor(its messy because im playing with a few different ways to do this).
terrain painting(same as above).
object placement for all ingame assets(scale, rotate, position and shader config).
load\save Quad tree\heightmap.
no Middleware(its a cost thing for now).
im using a GUI lib that was built in 2010(NEOFOCRE).
full steam intergration built with Steam4net(could build a steam bot with this but..... should use the powers for good and not evil).
This project has a very long lead time im always tweaking stuff it has just slowed down now because of playing TSW, friends, work and other stuff.
I have been working on a small test build of the engine so ill upload it very soon....... i just dont like to post shit code\apps that i built.
