They're both good options, but the PNY one is long and could be a possible conflict with a case that's not very good like the crap prebuilders use. The MSi one is taller, so could conflict in thinner cases which also some prebuilders use (Dell especially)

If you have a good case, just buy either. I'd personally go with the MSi one because it's easily overclocked to the same clockspeed as the PNY for $20 less. And 2 bigger fans sound quieter than 3 smaller ones (smaller = more high pitched, so even if their db levels may be the same, the one with smaller fans is going to be perceived as more noisy)

Got this case: http://www.phanteks.com/Eclipse-P400S.html

Should be ok with the MSI one...

So probably within the next month or two I hopefully plan to get a video card (Prices on RX 580) seem to be dropping. You all think RX 580s are still a good option or waiting for the next round of cards?

Hmm yes the RX 580 is still relevant and will still be relevant for a good 3 years-ish. And is certainly good enough for Star Citizen, much like the GTX 1060 6GB. There is another (cheaper) Vega right around the corner (Vega 20) but has been delayed to 2nd half of 2018 due to bottlenecked fabs and factories. Of course waiting gets old, doesn't it... :)

Definitely not a bad idea to grab a (new) RX 580 once it drifts into your price range. Just don't buy any of the used ones previously owned by miners, the fan bearings will be near-retirement ready, the vBIOS will have been flashed multiple times and the VRAM might be near EOL.

Yea, I don't mind waiting but I'm sure whenever Vega 20 comes out it'll probably be another 6 months just for a custom card to be even thought of. I feel like that's what its been for the Vega 56 and 64, and even then there still aren't a lot of them...

So what's better RX 580 or GTX 1060?

RX 580 IMO, they're pretty close in most games, but the RX 580 does better in Star Citizen which is likely going to be the most demanding game you run for the next 6 years hehe
